For over 12 years, Dr. Brad Abrahamson has practiced sports medicine. He has cared for fractures, sprains, arthritis, tendinitis, tendinopathies and many other conditions. He is an expert at diagnostic ultrasound and is known for his ability to figure out tricky diagnoses such as rare nerve entrapments.
As with all medical specialties, new treatments and technologies are always in development. Some of these new treatments, including regenerative medicine, have shown promising results in clinical trials. After careful scrutiny, Dr. Abrahamson has added some of these new treatments as options for patients. Does this mean that every patient we see needs new therapies? No. Will they be discussed as options? Possibly. It all depends on the patient’s condition and whether or not these therapies make sense.
At Integrative Sports Medicine, we want our prospective patients to know that Dr. Abrahamson’s expertise in regenerative medicine treatments grew out of his desire to be able to offer the best full-spectrum sports medicine and injury care to his patients. We also want you to know that our goal is to serve our patients in the best manner possible and approach each patient’s injury or illness on an individual basis.
Wondering what we mean by “regenerative medicine”? According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), “Regenerative medicine is the process of creating living, functional tissues to repair or replace tissue or organ function lost due to age, disease, damage, or congenital defects.”
At Integrative Sports Medicine we offer regenerative medicine services like Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell Therapy. Please know, regenerative medicine is simply an extension of our clinic’s sports medicine, injury and arthritis care. Dr. Abrahamson added regenerative therapies (PRP, Stem Cell) because of his strong drive to always be able to offer his patients the very best treatment available.
You may have noticed that Stem Cell “clinics” are popping up all over the place. Word is spreading about how beneficial these treatments can sometimes be. Like any popular, novel therapy, many clinicians have jumped on the bandwagon. Dr. Abrahamson and Integrative Sports Medicine are here to care for all your sports medicine (injury, fracture, arthritis, tendonitis and more) needs and regenerative therapies are only a piece of what he has to offer.
